Contact lenses have become a daily fashion accessory for many people. When I hear that, I usually just think of colored contact lenses. However, people are now taking eye fashion way past plain natural-looking color! Get ready to squirm as you check out these new extreme eye fashion fads: JewelEye Eye surgeons in the Netherlands have started a new jewelry trend: an implant in the eye called a “JewelEye.” In this procedure, a .13 inch piece of material is inserted into the sclera of the eye. The patient can choose the shape of their jewelry, ranging from a heart to a music note. Eye Jewelry If you fear commitment too much to go with the permanent “JewelEye” implant, Eric Klarenbeek has something that might be a better fit for you. Klarenbeek has designed a series of Eye Jewelry contact lenses with something resembling fishing line attached to the bottom to allow tiny objects to dangle below. Spray-On Color Contacts Hate having to stick your finger in your eye to put on those colored contacts? Here are some spray-on lenses! iSee Spray Lenses are spray-on contact lenses used for vision correction or color change. You just spray the solution directly onto your eye and it creates a film that wears off after 24 hours. No more forgetting to remove those pesky lenses! Tattooed eye whites If none of the eye fashions listed above are intense enough for you, this one should—no –WILL do it. Tattooed eyeballs. That’s right. People are tattooing the whites of their eyes to be, well, whatever color they want. The video says it all. |
